Princess Pillow Cake
Yesterday was a big day for me. I finally proved to myself that I can make a really cool, worthy of payment, cake!! i offered to make a cake for a friends daughters 10th birthday. So I thought about it for a bit and went BIG! Right, isn't the saying "Go big or go home!" Well I went for it. I studied up on how to make a pillow cake. Well here is the final product! Yahooo it looks cool. The birthday girl loved it and I got so many Ooohhhhs and Aaaahhhhhs. Felt really gratifying. So Here it it. I used two 8" squear pans and put them botton to bottom. Iced it covered it with homemade marshmallow fondant. I used the Cricut Cake to make the tiara and words. The cartridges I used were Storybook and elegant cakes. Thanks for looking. (Oh, I've already got and order for my very first PAID cake!! Yahoo)

Here is the picture, like promised, of the banner I made for a friends baby boy's 1st birthday. The party was all airplane theme and was so super cute. I used Everyday Paper Dolls for the Airplane and Basic Cakes for the font. The cloud shapes were cut from Elegant Cakes I believe. I embossed every other cloud with either swiss dots or swirls then rubbed them with a baby blue ink pad for relief. It really turned out great. And the party was so beautiful!

A friend of mine has a little boy just turning 1 and she chose a plane theme for his birthday. His name is Jett so the theme is perfect. I made a cute banner for her and this card. I don't have pictures of the banner yet but here is the card I made for him. I have a feeling this party is going to be super cute!!

Sorry, I have been away for a while. Our family went on a vacation to sunny California. Or should I say cloudy and cold. It was the coldest July I had ever seen. The beaches were empty but we still managed to find some fun. Now I'm back and have been craftin' like a mad woman! lol Here are a few pictures of the cards I've made. I have a little baby boys 1st birthday card and banner coming. Jett is having an airplane party. Too cute. I'll post pictures when I have them, :-)

Here is a simple but really cute teacher gift. I simply took a roll of Pillsbury sugar cookie dough, rolled it in some red sugar and sliced it. Bake them as the directions call and when you take them out push three mini chocolate chips in to the center to resemble the seeds. I packaged mine in plain ziploc baggies and made a topper using the apple from Plantin Schoolbook. They were a hit.

Wow, This was a really fun project. A good friend of mine asked me to embellish a cake for her sons high school graduation party. The Theme was Luau.

I used Life's A Beach Cartridge for all my cuts. They are all in card stock and then glued to skewers and just stuck into the top of the cake. The word "Congratulations" is up at the top on leaves and flowers

Here's a close up of the cute chairs with a bikini and swim trunks on. Also there are little flip flops and a fruity umbrella drink.

The little geckos were too cute not to put on there too. I made the waves that are around the sides with MM Fondant on the Cricut Cake. That machine is way to much fun!!

Behind the chairs were a pair of really cute flamingos and some palm trees. The flamingos means something to the family so we had to put them in there.

We had the new graduates name up on the main surf board.

Then these surf boars were the initials of his High school and his college. The turtles were so cute too. And yet another flamingo.
And last but not least the little crab, sand dollars and the turtles. Like I said, Phew! All done and it tasted really good!!! Thanks for looking.

Another party Done. Phew, today was so crazy. It was my sons 4th birthday and we had a full dino party. It was fun! We had a bone dig with bones I had made with salt dough. We had an egg hunt with eggs I made with water balloons, paper mache and pint, (I had filled them and then replastered them closed) We had an egg hatch with water balloon filled with water and they all sat on them untill they popped! nice and wet for the nearly 90 degree weather we had today! The we had a dino craft, we painted and glued split peas onto a wooden dino shape. The food and cake. Like I said, Phew! Here are some pictures.
Cousin Brett and Chrisitan with their Dinosaur eggs they found.

Here is the favor cake I made. All the kids got to take a "piece of cake" filled with playdough and a Dino facts face washcloth that was compressed in the shape of a dino egg. Pretty cool!
And the Active volcano cake! What a treat. The kids loved that we put dry ice in the top and it was really smokin'! All the food items had a little place tag too.

Just a NoteI'm really loving this Paisley Cartridge. I almost didn't get it. Phew. This little Ladybug was to super cute. I thought with spring here I would cheer up some of my friends with a little note. Hope you like it. The embossing was done with the Sizzix Big Shot (I simply love that little machine!) I think it really adds the finishing touch.
Shoes, Shoes, Shoes!!
I had so much fun making these little shoe cards. I cut them all out of the same paper but changed up the backgrounds. In the center of the little flower I put a little bling, what girl doesn't like a little sparkle. I cut the shoes from the Paisley Cricut cartridge at 3 1/2 so there was plenty of room left on the card for embellishments.
